Topic: Comparison of Voice AI Chat Architectures for Raspberry Pi-Based Robotic Duck and Robotic Dog

1.Open Duck Mini v2 Turn-Based Conversation Pipeline: Based on the Raspberry Pi 5 platform, this architecture adopts a sequential, turn-based conversation mechanism. The system performs audio recording, speech-to-text (STT), text generation, and text-to-speech (TTS) playback in sequence. For hardware control, it directly invokes ALSA subprocesses, such as arecord and aplay, to improve system stability and reduce dependencies. It also uses dynamic energy-based VAD to accurately detect the end of speech and calibrate for ambient noise.

2. Mini Pupper 2 Real-Time Streaming Pipeline: Based on the Raspberry Pi 4B platform, this architecture uses the OpenAI Realtime API over WebSocket for bidirectional audio streaming. It supports full-duplex, low-latency communication and a “barge-in” feature. When the system detects that the user has started speaking through semantic VAD, it immediately clears the playback queue and focuses on listening, enabling a natural, human-like real-time conversational experience.

本專案旨在為實體機器人建立人機語音互動架構,主要包含兩種核心管道設計:
1. Open Duck Mini v2 輪流對話管道: 基於 Raspberry Pi 5 平台,採用循序漸進的輪流對話機制。系統會依序完成錄音、語音轉文字(STT)、文字生成與語音合成(TTS)播放。硬體控制上直接調用 ALSA 子行程(如 arecord 與 aplay)以提升系統穩定度並減少依賴,並使用動態能量 VAD 來精準偵測說話結束與環境噪音校正。
